Investment opportunities to be promoted by Panama to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar

Panama's Foreign Affairs specified that there have been 20 years of diplomatic relations formalized by the two countries since February 8, 2002.
Starting tomorrow, Monday, an agenda will be developed with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, Soltan Bin Saad Al-Moraikhi, in which investment opportunities in the logistics center for access to the American continent are highlighted.
"The Republic of Panama will receive this Sunday the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, Soltan Bin Saad Al-Moraikhi, on an Official Visit to strengthen ties on economic and trade issues, a strategic partner that has one of the strongest economies in the world. According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MIRE), "As part of the post-pandemic economic reactivation plan, promoted by the administration of President Laurentino Cortizo Cohen, Panama will strengthen ties with Qatar, which manages one of the largest investment funds in the world, worth 335 billion dollars, taking advantage of the visit of Sheikh Mohamed Bin Abdulla Al Thani, member of the royal family and director of the Qatar Investment Authority."
The note noted that: "Panama will promote investment opportunities as a logistics hub to access the American continent, taking advantage of Qatar's interest in investing in emerging markets in Latin America in energy, real estate, banking, logistics and sports, with Qatar being the host country of the World Cup later this year".
"Foreign Minister Erika Mouynes will chair an expanded meeting with the Qatari minister and his team on Monday to explore opportunities for cooperation in several areas of common interest, in a meeting that precedes 20 years of diplomatic relations formalized by the two countries on February 8, 2002", the information reads.
"Both countries share privileged geographic positions in their regions, constituting a positive coincidence for the strengthening of the connection of Latin America and the Caribbean with the Middle East", added the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
In addition, the statement noted that "at the Bolivar Palace, Ana Margarita Reyes, Deputy Administrator of the Maritime Authority of Panama, will make a presentation on investment and infrastructure in the field of sea ports and airports, accompanied by Raffoul Arab Pinzón, General Manager of Tocumen , and Flor Melina Pitty, Director of Ports at the Maritime Authority of Panama".
According to the official communication, "previously, they will be received at the Canal Authority by the administrator, Ricaurte Vásquez; the Minister of Facilitation of Private Investments, José Alejandro Rojas; the national secretary of the Public-Private Partnership (PPP), Saleh Asvat; and Panama's Ambassador to Qatar, Musa Asvat."
Likewise, and as part of the diplomatic agenda, "the President of the Republic, Laurentino Cortizo Cohen, will hold a courtesy audience at the Presidential Palace, with Soltan Bin Saad Al-Moraikhi, to exchange coincidences in favor of developing political strategies that aim to strengthen the connection between the Middle East and Latin America and the Caribbean".
"Furthermore, within the framework of Panama's pro tempore presidency in the Central American Integration System (SICA), it is expected that a Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs will be held and the SICA-Qatar Summit will be held next May," says the note.
"The 11-member Qatari delegation includes representatives from the Qatar Investment Fund, the airline Qatar Airways and the ports of Mwani Qatar," the press release added.
